Christmas is set to be extra special this year after the pain of missing loved ones last year and so it feels even more important to choose a gift that will leave the people you love smiling. I was recently invited to create a Bag of Joy with Boots as part of their #BootsXmasSuprise Campaign and it got me thinking about what makes a gift special, which is the reason for this post.
We put so much pressure on finding something unique, that they wouldn’t guess or that’s better than the year before, costs more, sticks to a budget or outshines the rest. What I want you to think about is, how do you give the gift? Something I started doing several years back, during the lead up to Christmas and the New Year is to surprise and give thanks to people I adore. So much weight is put on Christmas Day, with families having to split up, travel to see numerous people in one day and cram it all into one 24 hours, when truly, time is the best gift and if you spread it out during the lead you can give love to everyone & then relax with close friends and family on the big day.
How to choose the perfect gift:
Think of the person you are gifting and ask yourself these 5 questions:
- How do you know each other?
- What is your favourite memory of them?
- What is their love language? (if you don’t know it, then the book would make a great gift!)
- What would make them smile but not feel like they have to return anything but love to you?
- What type of gift is it, Secret Santa, a Christmas gift for Her or a Christmas gift for Him?
How to create your own bag of joy!
Give yourself a budget, answer the above questions and then get wrapping! Boots has so many incredible Christmas gifts ideas on their website and if you can’t think of anything yourself you can use the Inspiration Tab or use the search bar to find your perfect Christmas presents. It’s the perfect mix of gifts for little ones, friends and family! Want to win you own bag of joy?
