I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited to decorate a room, let alone take photos of it. It seems so strange to be dressing a space that might not have anyone in it for another six months however with time flying so fast and the fact that we don’t know the sex of Baby Bump we just couldn’t wait any longer so we just let our excitement flow. This room is the smallest in our house and was previously my makeup and filming room, so many of the pieces in here were here prior but we’ve added new ways for storage, toys and baby essentials. I also filmed a Nursery Tour which you can watch by clicking here and everything is linked in this post or in the description of the video.
This room has become my favourite room of the house. Why? Because it’s the calmest, its cool tones and bright light makes it feel like a little escape and I’m hoping it will calm little one. We started by picking this moon wallpaper, it’s a little harder to think of a theme when you don’t know if you’re having a boy or girl so we decided to go with moons, mountains and bears and I personally adore it. Once we had the wallpaper up I searched for ages for a neutral but beautiful crib, so many are plastic and looked to me like jail cells but the Snüzcot came in a variety of colours and we loved that it should last us up to 10 years with its extra attachments to turn it into a bed. We knew we needed a changing basket and bedside crib but again almost everything we came across was plastic so when I found this beautiful handwoven one, I knew it would be perfect for wees and getting dressed. We were kindly gifted this shnuggle mat for those explosive number twos! I have to say our bedside crib is one of our favourite pieces and actually took the longest for us to get as it’s from Oz and sold out so quickly but it’s so worth it and we can’t wait to see little bump asleep in it!
Storage wise this room didn’t have any cupboards built in so we bought another Ikea Hemnes drawer to go with the one I already had as well as these drawer dividers and then decided to go with this hanging birchwood wardrobe from Etsy which was the perfect way to display our favourite clothes. The room really came together once our bear mobile, rainbow bunting and mountain shelf arrived, I know I probably should have made them myself but I honestly adore them and think they’ll be items we’ll keep for a lifetime. The beautiful personalised Guitar, Jelly Cat Teddies and Bunny Fingerprint Picture were all gifts from our baby shower and items I know I’m going to purchase for my friends. It’s so beautiful to see everyone’s fingerprints in our room! Something I found the hardest to pick was a baby bag. I knew from the beginning that I wanted a backpack as I’ve never been good with one shouldered ones so was ecstatic when a couple of my Instagram followers told me to check out Tiba & Marl. The Elwood backpack is wipe clean, has an insulated bottle holder and comes with a padded changing mat, not to mention it actually fits my laptop and non-baby bits. We’re obsessed! Now I’m curious, what theme would you go for? Comment below!
